I didn’t care for the style of a Hero’s Tale because the levels were way too large and confusing especially the Cloud Level and the Underwater levels. It was glitchy as hell and creepy as shit. And then, it was pitch black and I couldn’t die. I kid you not, I could still run around on the ground or on the ledges, but the backdrop was pitch black. The premise was good, but the execution was just lacking for me. I was like 15 years old and it still scared the crap out of me. It was creepy and scary to me as a kid and it made me not want to play it. The game would still be playing and nothing happened to Spyro. I’d be in the Frostbite Village or Gloomy Glacier, and the whole level would just go black. You’re telling me the level didn’t just disappear while you were playing? I’d be playing and then the whole level except for Spyro would go black. I have always been one and quite frankly it’s the best video game ever created- but Hero’s Tale was more frustrating than fun for me, but to each his own. It was more glitchy than enter the Dragon Fly.
